Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payable Accountant to join our finance team. The Payable Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to vendors and suppliers. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a knack for maintaining financial records while adhering to company policies and compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing:
- Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness before processing.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment.
Payment Management:
- Prepare and process vendor payments via check, ACH transfers, or credit cards, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in maintaining positive relationships with vendors by addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Reconciliations:
- Perform reconciliations of accounts payable entries and vendor statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in accounts payable accounts.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for all accounts payable transactions, ensuring they are easily retrievable for audits and management reviews.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal control policies.
Reporting:
- Assist in generating accounts payable reports for management review, including monthly accruals, aging reports, and expense analysis.
- Support month-end closing processes by ensuring all invoices and payments are recorded in the appropriate accounting period.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and treasury, to streamline payment processes and improve efficiency.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documents and answering queries related to accounts payable.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.Minimum of [4 years] experience in accounts payable.Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in accounts payable.
