Civil QS Engineer

The perfect candidate will be responsible for calculating major construction quantity surveying and relevant activities, invoicing, …., analyzing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans, and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors.



Main job duties and responsibilities:

  1. Prepare various Quantity Surveying documents including budgetary estimates from sketch drawings, Bill of Quantities for all disciplines and Costs Estimates.
  2. Prepare award of contracts, checks contract documents as well as make recommendations of contractor’s valuations.
  3. Responsible for preparing technical and material submittals.
  4. Assisting in the project budget, schedule planning and review design & shop drawings.
  5. Coordinate Architecture Civil and Electromechanical.
  6. Coordinate various projects between technical office, sites and designers.
  7. Participate in daily technical office activities (quantity surveying, contracts and bids).
  8. Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
  9. Prepare the construction method statements and risk assessments and develop work methods and temporary works necessary for your area.
  10. Track changes to the design or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly.
  11. Taking part in the selection process of subcontractors and suppliers for projects. Reviewing subcontractors' invoices.
  12. Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.
  13. Study and prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) for missing, unclear, conflicting or other technical matters that may arise during construction.
  14. Review outsourced Engineering offices' drawings and coordinate their approval process.
  15. Resolve/report any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise during construction.
  16. Coordinate and develop detailed project schedule together with engineers, vendors and construction contractors.
  17. Communicate projects' progress and problems/risks/concerns to senior management.
  18. Prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets of offers received from the subcontractors, and follow up on the subcontracted works, including the payment applications.
  19. Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job’s specialty.




Job requirements:

Educational background and previous experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree certificate in Engineering according to the required specialty (Civil).
  2. From 2 to 4 years’ experience in the same field.
