Job Purpose :

Responsible for supervising, reviewing and supporting in the handling of day to day general accounting operational tasks from posting Journal entries on ERP, calculating fixed assets depreciation, monitoring bank accounts, gathering tax related financial information, supporting in regular financial closings, verifying cash flow and treasury activities, supplying all financial data and supporting in preparation of various financial statements and reports.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks :Posts, properly allocates and reviews all Journal entries on ERP related to Accounts payables and receivables as assigned.Posts all Fixed assets entries and calculates their depreciation regularly.Monitors all the treasury activities: cash in and cash out transaction and reports and discrepancies.Supervises preparing Bank Reconciliation statements.Responsible for issuing Monthly Trial balance and other financial statements and reports (usually on monthly basis)Oversees the recording of assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses entries by compiling, analyzing associated account information, posts related journal entries and support monthly and annual closings.Reconciles statements for all accounts to have the correct balances reflected on the ERP system.Oversees university expenditure and revenue items to present cash flow movement.Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency.Prepares and files monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns in compliance with related regulations.Ensures compliance to tax laws and regulations by staying updated with and changes in related Legislations.Assists in tax planning and forecasting activities, supports with handling tax audits by participating in the preparation of the required analysis and documents.Supports in end of month and end of year financial closing process.Performs any other tasks requested from Manager, Accounting and/or CFO.Job Specification:Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.Eight to Ten years of experience in General Accounting.Experience in educational institutes is preferred.Accuracy and attention to details.Very good communication skillsGood level of punctuality and accountabilityVery good level of English languagePrevious knowledge with ERP systemsExcellent knowledge of all MS. applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel…)
