We have our global headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany, and have around 75,000 employees internationally.We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Brightly team in Cairo, Egypt.ResponsibilitiesEstablish a new data ingestion pipeline within our data cloud, while actively influencing decisions regarding the future of our data infrastructure.Play a pivotal role in designated areas for developing data pipelines, as well as constructing new data lake and cloud data warehouse architectures for analytics, reporting, or AI/ML applications.Participate in crafting data models, data dictionaries, and catalog references within the domains of primary responsibility.Oversee and monitor our data pipeline operations and data cloud zones to ensure the delivery of timely, high-quality, and accurate data.Act as a guardian for our data cloud by establishing standards and best practices for data utilization, including metadata cataloging and organization.Contribute to our team's leadership in data cloud and operational processes lifecycle and tooling.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.5+ years of software/data engineering experience using Java, Scala, and/or Python, with 3+ years in data-focused roles.Experience in data integration (ETL/ELT) development using Java, Scala, Python, PySpark, and SparkSQL.Strong background in building and maintaining data pipelines supporting various integration patterns (batch, replication/CDC, event streaming) and data lake/warehouse environments.Familiarity with AWS-based data services technologies like Kinesis, Glue, RDS, Athena, Snowflake, etc.Experience with large-scale data environment initiatives and partner integrations is a plus.Knowledge of Audit, Balance, and Control (ABC) frameworks for managing data pipeline operations and data quality is advantageous.Openness to experiment and learn new technologies and approaches.Proficiency in various databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Teradata.Understanding of software engineering principles and agile development best practices.Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and share knowledge effectively.Why us?Working at Siemens Software means flexibility - Choosing between working at home and the office at other times is the norm here.
