R&D Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production manager, sales, and manufacturing engineers, to gather requirements and understand customer needs for metal lab furniture.
  • Design and develop new lab furniture products and enhancements, considering factors such as ergonomics, functionality, safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications for metal lab furniture designs.
  • Perform structural analysis and simulations using finite element analysis (FEA) tools to ensure designs meet required load-bearing capacity and safety standards.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify and evaluate new materials, components, and manufacturing processes for improved performance, cost reduction, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure design feasibility, optimize manufacturing processes, and provide design-for-manufacturing (DFM) input.
  • Create prototypes of lab furniture designs, coordinate testing and validation activities, and analyze test results to refine and improve designs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulations related to lab furniture design, safety, and sustainability.
  • Participate in design reviews, provide technical expertise, and collaborate with stakeholders to address design challenges and optimize product performance.
  • Document design specifications, analysis results, and project progress reports.

Experience from 2- 5 yearsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and metal sheets worksProficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software for structural analysis and simulations.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to lab furniture design, safety, and ergonomics (e.g., SEFA, ANSI/BIFMA).Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply analytical thinking to resolve complex design challenges.Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies is a plus.Prior experience in lab furniture design, new product development, or a related industry is preferred.
