Guided by our values of integrity, respect, accountability and excellence, we use leading science and technology to more fiber-based packaging forward.WestRock's Mahrt Mill is seeking Entry Level Production Workers to support in the manufacturing process!The Entry Level role will be basic entry level jobs operating mobile equipment in various departments within the mill, requiring training on multiple pieces of equipment and multiple processes. Work assignments will be based on labor needs for the Mill and will be used to fill in for vacancies caused by vacancies, leave of absence, training, project assignments, labor intensive products or projects, etc. Basic functions: The production areas of the mill include our Paper Machine, Chemical Recovery, Pulp Mill and Utilities Departments. The positions are there to assist other workers in the operations of the mill.How You Will Impact WestRock Comply with all site safety requirements and procedures. Perform various housekeeping, cleaning, and organizing functions with minimal supervision to ensure areas are clean and free from debris. Perform all work assignments in various areas and departments of the mill in a professional manner that complies with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements for the mill. Prioritize work and take appropriate action to ensure all areas remain operational. Operate equipment for Roll finishing (banding, wrapping, labeling, sorting). Essential functions within the production areas will include but not limited to:Paper Machine Department Cutting, loading, storing, and removing of paper cores Assist in startup of machines Clean-up of areas Chemical Recovery Department Maintain check lists Manage rail track/truck inventory Confirm placement of train cars and their content Pump out lime pits and unload fresh lime Pulp Mill Department Monitor wood chip delivery system Dislodge and clear blockage from conveyor delivery system, chute, hopper, or screens Visually inspect wood chip delivery systems for potential blockage or malfunction Utilities Department Check all Equipment Startup of truck dumpers Assist drivers if needed Unplug bark hogs and trucker dump hoppers and conveyors What You Need To Succeed High School Diploma or GED Ability to pass company-required written test that includes rules and gauges Numerical ability Reading and Bennett Mechanical aptitude testing (testing will be scheduled when candidates are selected). Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment Ability to work rotating shifts (southern swing) Mahrt Papermill offers competitive wages and benefits package. The competitive wage rates begin at $21.00, soon the pay rate increases to $23.14 - $28.27 per hour after successful completion of the entry level probationary period.
