Job Overview
The responsibilities of a senior accounting manager revolve around preparing financial reports and presentations, assessing the performance of the workforce, participating in audits, managing schedules and guidelines, and devising strategies to improve systems and services. The candidate will be working closely with Stakeholders assessing budgets, financials, creating models and stress testing them. The accountant may also be responsible for oversight of subsidiary firms or oversight of other sister firms within the same group.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Experience in creating financial analysis, modelling and evaluation models for existing and new businesses.
● Harmonize accounting functions: internal/external financial statement preparation, financial inventory oversight
● Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
● Provide key expertise knowledge of payroll tax and compliance resulting the identification and resolution of compliance matters within the organization
● Prepare financial reports, benchmark and KPI reporting for plants, regions and consolidate entity and costs to identify trends and improvement opportunities
● Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
● Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades/phase-two implementation of ERP software
● Ensure compliance with internal control policies and collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results
● Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual report
● Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
● Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions
● Experience in agriculture business, running farms is highly appreciated
● Experience in dealing with Banking and Credit partners relationship and services management (overdrafts, credit, loans, etc)
Qualifications
● Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting (Masters preferred)
● Minimum of 5 International or Multinational Companies
● Clear understanding of local and global tax regimes. Experience in handling international accounting and tax books.
● Venture Capital experience is preferred.
● Preference to CFA and CPA holders.
