Quality Manager - Food manufacturing

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with relevant food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA, ISO).
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols, including incoming raw material inspection, in-process quality checks, and finished product testing, to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of the manufacturing processes, facilities, and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Lead investigations into quality incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, procurement, and logistics, to resolve quality-related issues and implement process improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality programs, including vendor qualification, audits, and performance monitoring, to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on quality assurance principles, procedures, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality metrics and performance indicators, preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings to senior management and drive decision-making.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to food quality and safety, implementing best practices and innovative solutions as appropriate.
  • Support customer audits and certifications, providing documentation and information as needed to demonstrate compliance with quality standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and customers, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain certifications.
  • Participate in new product development projects, providing input on quality requirements, process feasibility, and risk assessment.
  • Handle any other tasks related to his role.

Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.Minimum 10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within the food manufacturing industry, with specific experience in sauces manufacturing preferred.Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, FDA regulations, and GMPs.Experience in implementing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS), preferably in a food manufacturing environment.Familiarity with quality testing methods and equipment, including sensory evaluation, microbiological testing, and analytical testing.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
