• Plans and directs the Aquatics program to meet the needs and safety standards of the waterpark operation
• Plans and directs the water park’s Park Services and First Aid & Safety programs
• Work closely with the other FM dep. staff to effectively coordinate park activities
• Clearly describes and assigns responsibility and authority for the operation of the department
• Monitor and check the maintenance of the water park.
• Assists other managers and supervisors to provide necessary input improving overall waterpark operations
• Assists other managers and supervisors to provide support during waterpark off-hours
• Develops, implements, and monitors schedules for the waterpark operation
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring and terminating of departmental staff in compliance with the Human Resource Department; as well as following procedures for appropriate disciplinary action, when applicable
• Responsible for determining staff levels, final selection, training, and maintaining Staff Members within the department
• Responsible for creating and maintaining departmental labour budget
•Ensures waterpark cleanliness at all times during both operational and non-operational hours
• Enforces policies and procedures, performs maintenance and review of policies and procedures
• Plans training and development programs within the department that will provide well trained Staff Members at all levels
• Works to Maintain proper lifeguard assignments, break, and staffing levels as dictated by Operating Guidelines and Management
• Ability to recognize unsafe situations, cease operations and notify upper management of the concern
• Maintain an efficient, fair and cooperative atmosphere among Staff Members
• Maintains a working knowledge of general and departmental safety procedures.
• Attends and successfully completes the applicable safety training programs and in-service education as required
• Responsible for monitoring the Waterpark facilities operation of mechanical spaces that serve the waterpark
• Maintains a general knowledge of the entire park operation
• Encourages and motivates the team for high-performance ratings on third-party audits and overall success of safety programs
• Monitor, manage and respond to guest comments and proactively addressing guest comments with operational resolutions
• Serves as to represent the interests of the waterpark and safety programs
