Local Purchasing Supervisor (Food & Beverage)

We are looking for a Local Purchasing Supervisor to join our team in New Cairo. As a Local Purchasing Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the purchasing & sourcing for our food and beverage. You will collaborate with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the local market and be able to source high-quality products at competitive prices. Additionally, you should have excellent communication and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with suppliers and ensure the smooth operation of the purchasing process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the sales to identify purchasing needs and requirements
  2. Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities
  3. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms of payment
  4. Review and approve purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints
  5. Monitor and track supplier performance, including on-time delivery and product quality
  6. Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers, such as late deliveries or defective products
  7. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
  8. Stay up-to-date with market trends and changes in the food and beverage industry
  9. Collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices and resolve any billing issues
  10. Coordinate with other departments to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the food and beverage industry
  2. Strong knowledge of local suppliers and market trends in Egypt
  3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  4. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  6. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software
