- Serving as an educator for patients about their medications, encouraging them to adhere to their treatment plans, and answering questions about their prescriptions.
- Reviewing prescriptions for possible errors before filling them or recommending changes to the prescriber if necessary
- Working closely with patients to develop treatment plans and manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
- Prescribing medications to patients based on their needs, working with physicians to develop treatment plans.
- Recommending new medications or changing dosages to improve patient health or eliminate side effects of current medications.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of medications, adjusting dosages as needed, and changing medications as indicated.
- Prescribing medications approved by a physician, based on their knowledge of pharmacology and experience with different medications.
- Managing inventory of medications by ordering new supplies, checking expiration dates to ensure that they are not outdated, and returning unused medications to the manufacturer or pharmacist for disposal.
- Administering immunizations and other preventative measures to help patients.
Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or related field.1:4 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist.1:4 years of compounding experience.Thorough knowledge of regulations regarding compounding pharmacies.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and with a team.
